Shoes aren’t always made for comfort. And, while I know I’m stating the obvious, it’s good to be reminded. After all, I do spend most of my days at this time of the year sitting in front of my computer with my feet all toasty and warm in my mou eskimos.
The shoes on display at this weekend’s Javari Shoes for Show exhibition would not be appropriate work attire. They do, however, cross into realms of art and sculpture with their improbable form, height and embellishment.
Several high-end designers, such as Vivienne Westood, Nicholas Kirkwood, Christian Louboutin, Salvatore Ferragamo and Alexander McQueen, have been included in the show, which is includes and eclectic mix of old and new. Some of these have to be seen to be believed.
