yayoi kusama collaborates with louis vuitton

It was only a few weeks ago that Shelley wrote about the inimitable Yayoi Kusama, but with the recent news of her partnership with Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton we thought she deserved a second mention.

Kusama, who has employed her distinctive patterns and colour palette for the ‘Infinity Dots Collection’, is the latest in a line of artists who have worked with the fashion house (previous collaborators include compatriot Takashi Murakami and Stephen Sprouse).

The pieces are distinctive and beautiful. And so will be the Louis Vuitton boutiques carrying the line. The windows are to be Kusama-fied, so anyone who missed out on the Tate Modern exhibition earlier this year will be able to get a taste of the artist from the street. We’re sure it won’t be a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it affair.
